Gustavo and Julia
Gustavo and Julia is a project I created based on a story my daughter wrote and drew when she was six years old. For public of 4 to 8 old years, and for past five years, I have been dedicating my free time to working on my own version of the story as a gift for her when the book is finished. The project is still ongoing, and I will soon be making more posts showing new pages and studies.
Studies and characters
Gustavo
Gustavo is actually my son, Miguel. His face was the inspiration for the creation of the characters. A curious detail is that Laura is actually older than Miguel; however, I thought it would be more fun and whimsical to base the characters on both of their faces.
Júlia
Júlia, actually is Laura, my daughter, she is the author of this story.
Mãe
This is the model sheet for Gustavo and Julia's mother. It was,
of course, inspired by Laura's mother, who in reality is Adriana.

The Gustavo and Julia project is an illustrated book in progress that was initially created by a 6-year-old child, ensuring a sweet and authentic narrative written by children for children.
"The plot follows siblings Gustavo and Julia in an initiative to plant flowers, which results in a touching birthday surprise for their mother, celebrating sibling love and environmental awareness.
The project utilizes digital cartoon-style illustrations (21x20cm) with vibrant colors and collages, making it ideal for a board book format.
