The Boy and The Heron
No. This is not a reinterpretation of Hayao Miyazaki’s work. It is one scene from an illustration sample created for a text that will be illustrated, developed to give the client a clear idea of how the final artwork could look. In this image, the scene was explored in two different ways.

The first version was hand-drawn on paper and colored with colored pencils. In this scene, I sought to represent elements that summarize the story: that of a boy who has the ability to talk to and listen to animals and plants, gathering important information to achieve his goal — rescuing Princess the cow, who wandered away from the herd and disappeared into the forest. He relies on this special talent of communicating with animals and plants to find her.

Although the pencil sketch is not very clear, it is possible to see that I prioritized the most important elements of the scene, allowing them to stand out through stronger use of color, with a particular emphasis on blue.
